Placerville City Council Meeting, today, April 28, 6pm
Re: ED County COVID 19 Stay-at-Home Directive
& Plans for phased re-opening
ED County Stay-at-Home Directive Expiring on April 30 & Plans for phased re-opening
Yesterday (4/27/20), the EDC Board of Supervisors posted notification of a Special BOS Meeting at 1pm today (4/28/20) regarding sending a letter to Governor Newsom proposing an early phase 2 reopening of non-essential businesses. The Placerville City Council, at their regular April 28th, 6pm meeting also has this issue scheduled on their agenda.
Given the urgency of this issue and the extremely short timeframes, letters were submitted to the EDC BOS and Placerville CCC, expressing concern about taking premature action to ease up on the current “Stay at home” guidance and restrictions on non-essential businesses, when less than 1% of EDC residents have been tested for COVID 19. This morning (4/28/20) El Dorado County's Public Health Officer issued a press release that the EDC County "Stay-at-Home" Directive will be left to expire on 4/30/20. (See below for more information).
