Sudan’s Humanitarian Crisis Is Only Getting Worse
— New Lines Magazine
One of the world’s most pressing humanitarian catastrophes is growing and deepening every day with a famine officially declared in Sudan. Will you rush a gift to deliver urgently needed humanitarian aid to those in Sudan and beyond?

Here is the latest from Sudan:
🟠10.7 million people are internally displaced due to year-long conflict, including 2.56 million women and girls of reproductive age.
🟠250k of those internally displaced women are currently pregnant.
🟠1.2 million pregnant and breastfeeding women are facing acute malnutrition as famine has officially been declared.
On top of the worsening hunger crisis in North Darfur, where experts say people are experiencing "the worst form of hunger,” shocking floods continue to fuel misery across the country.
There are reports of latrines and water points being flooded, increasing the risks of waterborne diseases at a time when people are already dying from hunger and illness and the health system is on the verge of collapse.
Through these compounding crises, UNFPA continues to provide health facilities and partners with reproductive health medicines and supplies. UNFPA is also deploying roving teams of midwives and medical staff to support safe childbirths and mobile clinics in areas of high need where access to health and protection services is limited.
Gifts from donors make this work possible, which is why we’re appealing to you today as needs mount in Sudan.
Will you deliver lifesaving care to the women and girls of Sudan, and wherever people are going hungry around the world?
Thank you for being there for women and girls.
