With most schools closed until the end of the year, families everywhere are struggling to keep kids learning and engaged at home. We know how hard it is, so our learning experts have put together guidelines and suggestions for supporting kids of all ages, preschool to college.

What are the most essential skills for kids to be working on at each age? How much structure should parents provide? How tough should you be — and when should give your kids, and yourself, a break?

Speaking of giving yourself a break, this week we also tackle how to modify (but not abandon!) rules for screen time when kids are stuck at home.

Finally, we’d like to invite you to share your experience during this public health crisis by recording a video or audio log. Through crisislogger.org, a community research initiative, we are collecting testimonials researchers will use to assess how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting children’s mental health.
