1) Is Climate Change Fanaticism the Greatest Killer of All Time?
How many people are dying each year from climate change lunacy? The left's immoral war on energy has now become one of the planet's leading causes of death and infant mortality.

This is the only conclusion from a new 2024 study, finding more than 1 billion people STILL lack access to reliable electric power.

We quote from this deeply disturbing analysis:

Since 2000, access to electricity has increased dramatically across the globe, jumping from 75% of the global population to 90% by 2020. But having access means little when the power is not working, is unreliable, or is too costly to use. For too many around the world, newly gained connections to electricity services have not resulted in meaningful benefits to their daily lives. In a newly released paper, we report that at least 1.18 billion are energy poor and unable to use electricity, a total that is 60% higher than the 733 million people who lack any electricity connection at all in 2020, according to official data.

So here we are in the year 2024 and a population TWICE the size of the United States still has no electricity some 125 years after Edison's invention of the light bulb!

Energy poverty has become one of the leading causes of death. Then we have a half-trillion-dollar climate change industrial complex (funded by the U.S. government and leftwing tax-exempt foundations) instructing poor nations in Africa and Asia to use LESS electric power and to avoid using coal and natural gas - the most plentiful and cheapest forms of energy.

If this continues, the climate change movement will be responsible for more deaths than Hilter and Stalin combined.

2) Kamala Owns the Inflation

As we've pointed out before, it was Vice President Kamala Harris's key tie-breaking votes that allowed the twin inflation-bombs of the "American Rescue Plan ([link removed]) " and the Orwellian-named "Inflation Reduction Act ([link removed]) " to pass through the Senate.

University of Chicago economist and Unleash Prosperity Senior Fellow Casey Mulligan calculates that Harris's votes for ARP and IRA were responsible for at least half of the excess inflation experienced during the Biden presidency.

But it gets much worse: If Harris's proposed Universal Basic Income welfare bill had been enacted prices would not be 20% higher but at least 50% higher.

Remember: this is the woman who says she's going to "eliminate inflation on day one," if elected president.

3) Top Democratic Priority in 2025: Cut Taxes for the Rich Who Live in Blue States

Democrats have pledged to sock it to the rich with tax hikes in 2025, if they win back Congress. But not if the millionaires and billionaires live in high-tax blue states. In that case, they want to bring back a loophole for the top one percent to deduct their state income taxes from the federal taxes. This would be one of the sweetest deals for the super-rich in California, New York, and New Jersey in American history.

Yesterday, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of New York promised that the tax write-off for his Manhattan upper-class voters would be resurrected if Democrats win back the Senate next year.

So much for building a fair tax code if Democrats win back the Senate.

Are these the biggest tax-cut hypocrites in American history? Maybe.

4) Yes, There Was A Golden Age of Television Interviewing

One of the most popular morning TV programs is The View, with four leftwing women around the table blasting freedom and free markets five days a week.

It wasn’t always like this. Phil Donahue, whose syndicated TV interview show ran for 30 years before ending in 1996, and who died this week at age 88, was a bleeding-heart liberal. But he was a straight shooter who believed in the fair exchange of ideas.

Steve Hayward of the Hoover Institution reports that one of the most popular YouTube clips from Donahue's show came from an hour-long appearance by Milton Friedman.

Watch the two-minute clip below and marvel at the succinct wisdom and clarity of Friedman's answer. But also appreciate that Donahue gave him and other figures on the right – from Ronald Reagan to Ayn Rand to Phyllis Schlafly – a platform for hour-long conversations about their views when few others would.

We long for a return to those days.

5) Freedom Trounces Socialism Every Time
Speaking of the great Milton Friedman, the world recently has had a natural experiment comparing his favored policies with those of another Nobel Prize winner from the opposite end of the political spectrum: Joseph Stiglitz.

Charles Lajoie wrote on X:

If you want to know the difference between Milton Friedman and Joseph Stiglitz, I present to you 4 countries with a GDP per capita of about $15,000 in 1998 (Poland being a bit poorer back then).

The first one, Estonia, reformed its way out of socialism through shock therapy. Mart Laar, the architect of the reforms, cited Free to Choose as his main inspiration.

The second, Poland, also reformed its way out of socialism, and it did so through even more radical shock therapy than Estonia. Leszek Balcerowicz, who's widely seen as the main actor behind those reforms, has won the Milton Friedman Prize for Advancing Liberty in 2014, a reflection of his reforms' adherence to Friedman's (and tbf, Austrian school economists') ideas.

The third one, Argentina, has followed the ideas of Néstor Kirchner since 2003, a man who was directly advised and praised by Joseph Stiglitz. As late as 2022, Stiglitz praised its economic policies.

The fourth, Venezuela, followed economic policies that were openly praised by Stiglitz as late as 2007, although he didn't directly advise its leader.

And, there you go. That's the difference between Milton Friedman and Joseph Stiglitz.
