Governor Tim Walz — with the help of a Democratic-controlled legislature — passed a raft of progressive legislation, from paid family and medical leave to universal free school meals, and codified abortion access in the state.

But these historic legislative gains didn’t happen overnight. State-based grassroots organizations across Minnesota organized over multiple cycles to elect a blue trifecta and build the political power necessary to pass a progressive agenda. 

That’s why Sister District started our State Bridges program three years ago, to invest DIRECTLY in local, community-based organizing — often led by people of color — in critical states. Because that’s how we lay the foundation to build enduring progressive power. 

Today, we’re asking you to make a 2x matched contribution to infuse resources into Pennsylvania United — a grassroots organization that builds power within multi-racial, working-class communities to mobilize voters and fight for racial, social, and economic justice year-round. 

In just the last month, Pennsylvania United has made more than 57,000 doors knocks, called over 10,000 phones, and registered 65 voters.

And with resources raised directly from our Sister District community, they’ve been able to expand their field infrastructure and built a team of canvassers to reach nearly 20 communities in small cities and towns across Western and Central Pennsylvania that won’t be reached by any other field program this year. 

Over the next 77 days, PA United is ready to ramp up its organizing to turn this critical tipping point state blue, and save the one-seat Democratic majority in the state house— but they need your help to do it.
