John,

In the wake of the Supreme Court's disastrous decision in Dobbs , many states with restrictive abortion laws on the books have seen already existing problems go from bad to worse.

Iowa is no exception. Since our state's dangerous six-week abortion ban went into effect, we've seen an outpouring of stories from doctors and other medical providers showing how hard this ban has made it for them to provide essential medical care.

More than 33% of Iowa counties are considered maternity care deserts, meaning that access to care is either limited or completely unavailable. 68,815 women across the state live in a county without a single obstetric provider. Medicine isn't one size fits all.

When people can't see medical providers who are specially equipped to deal with their needs, it can have disastrous consequences for their health or the health of their children.

Iowa's infant mortality rate increased by 30% in 2022. For a group who loudly proclaims themselves to be "pro-life", Republicans don't seem to be too concerned about the havoc their policies wreck on Iowa's families.

We can't afford to have leaders who put our community members at risk. Donate to my campaign and help elect a strong, pro-choice voice to Represent Sioux City. [[link removed]]
