Friends —
Tomorrow night I will be giving a speech at the Democratic National Convention.
And while Michigan is always my first, second, and third order concern, it will be a chance to introduce myself and talk about the stakes of this election, and the importance of our swing state, on national television. I hope you'll tune in.
But for those of you who don't live and breathe politics, I wanted to take a moment to explain what this convention represents.
At its core, the Democratic National Convention is a chance for Democrats to outline their vision for America to a national audience, culminating on Thursday night, when Kamala Harris formally accepts the Democratic nomination for president.
You'll see and hear candidates up-and-down the ballot and across the country talk about the issues important to them and their constituents.
You'll hear from people whose lives have been impacted by important policies championed by Democrats.
And you'll almost certainly hear the case against Donald Trump returning to the White House.
Because it’s Democrats from across the country coming to one central location, and it’s also a chance for Democrats to strategize and organize as we head into the home-stretch.
And, of course, because Michigan is first, second, and third, it's a chance for our state party leaders and activists to come together in one location to talk about how we'll win in November. Because Democrats absolutely cannot hold the Senate, or secure the White House, without winning our notorious swing state.
So I hope you'll watch my speech tomorrow night. And just as much, I hope you'll help me fund a campaign that can win this November. Because there is only one way we will win this Senate race and hold the White House… and that is together.
