Our Voice for Children April 2020 COVID-19 Resource Hub We're committed to helping families find the tools and information they need to navigate the crisis and best take care of their children.
Help make sure vulnerable children will not get left behind as our country responds to this pandemic. Donate to the Children in Crisis Fund > Recovery for America's Children Earlier this month, we sent a letter to every U.S. Senator and Representative urging them to make our most vulnerable children and families a priority in the next COVID-19 relief package. Hear from our National Executive Director on why further action is necessary to protect children. Advocating for All Children The continued nationwide shut down and the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic have been stressful for us all, but for some children and families, the result could be severe instability or even crisis. Our state and national policy teams are hard at work ensuring that the needs of the most vulnerable children remain a priority. On behalf of nearly 600 national, state, and local organizations, we sent a letter to Congressional leaders urging Congress to act immediately to equip the child welfare system with the tools it needs to handle this crisis and keep families safe. We also called on Congress to swiftly correct its shameful exclusion of immigrant and mixed-status families from its COVID-19 relief efforts thus far. We highlighted a shocking report that forecasts a stark rise in poverty as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and called on leaders to take immediate action to address this. We also shone a light on the nationwide problem of hunger and how the current economic crisis necessitates an emergency increase in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to meet the needs of children and families. Our state offices are providing real-time updates and working hard to connect our communities with local resources to meet the needs of this unique time.
