Law enforcement training Thursday, Aug. 22

WHAT: Law enforcement agencies are conducting an emergency response training. Much of West Campus, west of Cherry Lane SW, will be closed.
WHEN: Thursday, August 22, 4 p.m. - midnight.
WHERE: The Legislative Building and surrounding grounds, including lanes and parking lots to the building’s north, west and south.
This includes the following lanes and parking areas west of Cherry Lane SW:
- Sid Snyder Avenue SW, to the south of the Legislative Building.
- Pleasant Lane SW, to its west.
- The Flag Circle, between the Temple of Justice and the Legislative Building.
- And the road and parking areas north and west of the Temple of Justice.
IMPACTS:
- Capitol Campus will be closed west of Cherry Lane.
- Officers equipped with firearms, and their vehicles, will be present starting at 3 p.m.
- Parking near the Legislative Building will close at 4 p.m.
- The Legislative Building will close at 5 p.m.
- The training will create noise that people nearby may hear.
