John xxxxxx, we hope you and your loved ones are well.
To those who are working on our streets, in our hospitals and care homes, our shops, delivering our parcels and more - thank you.
For those of us stuck at home, unable to live or campaign as usual - it's easy to feel isolated.
We've been inspired by the ingenious things people are doing to bring friends, family and neighbours together and stay active. So to boost our spirits, we've compiled 5 ways we can keep busy and inspired right now.
1) Support your community
Labour's been fighting hard to protect our frontline workers and communities. And it's been great seeing so many of us spring into action - from supporting foodbanks in Wolverhampton to young people in London collecting protective equipment for essential workers. Check out our Coronavirus hub ([link removed]) for tips on how to get active, and to get more involved join us today ([link removed]).
2) Campaign and donate
There's so many campaigns you can support from home. From Unite the Union's campaign to support our taxi drivers ([link removed]), to the GMB's Protect our Protectors petition ([link removed]). It's also really important to support food bank charities and domestic violence charities right now if you can afford to, or join a tenants' union to fight for renters. You can also contact your MP or councillor to raise any issues ([link removed]).
3) Learn about Labour
We've collated some of the best resources for learning about the Labour movement while you're at home ([link removed]) - from podcasts to keep you entertained and up to date, to trade union resources about the history of our movement. And don't miss our MPs' top book recommendations ([link removed]) and the best films about the Labour movement.
4) Organise and attend online events
From video call pub quizzes to online clubs, reading groups, and film viewings, everyone's keeping busy! Check out our website to see how Labour is getting active on the ground to support communities during Coronavirus ([link removed]). And if you're under 27, attend Young Labour's online events ([link removed]).
5) Look after yourself
You don't have to be productive! Many of us are worried for friends and family or feeling lonely at home, so it's understandable to feel anxious or sad. We asked Labour's new Shadow Minister for Mental Health to put together 5 tips for looking after your mental health during this tough time ([link removed]).
If you're trying out something new or fun during this time - reply to this email with your story and pictures and we'll share the best bits!
In solidarity,
Team Labour
