Folks, do you recognize this girl?
She grew up in a working family of ten that had to stretch every dollar just to get by. Her parents taught her the values of hard work, compassion, and perseverance, and she had to start pitching in early with a paper route at the age of 8.
This girl is me, Congresswoman Susie Lee. I’m proud of my story, because it’s a story about community. About uplifting one another so we can rise together.
Before I share more about how I got here, will you pitch in $20 to support my pro-choice, pro-working families campaign for Congress?
I wouldn’t be writing this email to you today if it weren’t for the opportunities I had growing up. I was fortunate enough that my parents had good jobs with fair wages, even though money was tight. I took part in free extracurriculars that helped build my confidence from a young age.
We’ve had over 40 years since then to make sure these same opportunities are available to every child, regardless of their family’s tax bracket. Because they work. They help kids thrive.
Knowing that, it’s hard to understand why far-right extremists are obsessed with defunding public education, cutting sports, arts, and after-school programs, and dismantling public programs that keep our kids healthy and safe.
If we want to pave the way for success for future generations of Nevadans, we need leaders willing to fight for it. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing in Congress, and I’m darn proud of it.
I’m running for re-election to make sure every kid has a fair shot at the American Dream, and I need your help to win this fight. In the name of a brighter tomorrow, will you chip in $20 today?
