Comrades––we’re at the DNC!

This week Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ) and Grassroots Global Justice Action Fund (GGJAF) is on the ground in Chicago standing shoulder to shoulder with our allies in the Uncommitted Movement, Rising Majority, the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL), and thousands of others as we demand justice, equity, and accountability from the political establishment, the Biden/Harris administration, and the Harris/Walz campaign.

Why We're Here:

Our participation at the DNC is about more than showing up—it's about the Social Movement Left defining this political moment and truly shaping the future of this country. We’re bringing the voices of our communities directly to the doors of power, amplifying policy demands for ceasefire, investments in a regenerative economy, racial justice, economic equity, and climate action. With our partners, we’ll be working to ensure our movements' vision for justice remains at the center of the national conversation.

What to Expect:

- Direct Action: We are joining forces with the U.S. Palestine Community Network (USPCN) and 300+ other organizations in the March on the DNC to demand a bold, transformative agenda that addresses justice for Palestine; a ceasefire, arms embargo and respecting internal law to end the genocide in Palestine and the wholistic divestment from the systems of war and investing in systems of care.
- Strategic Planning: While at the DNC, GGJ and GGJAF will also be engaging in discussions and actions that help define the future of our political work. This is our moment to ensure that the grassroots and international influence that our members hold shapes the direction the left is pushing U.S. politics.
- Solidarity with Allied Groups: This is a critical moment to deepen our alliances with leftist organizations across the country who are committed to radical change. We’ll be participating in multiple actions and events this week––from EAT’s “Keep it 1000” march for reparations to Care In Action’s demPalooza—–that will contribute to the overall power building on the left.

Compas, ¡estamos en el Congreso Nacional Demócrata!

Esta semana, Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ) y Grassroots Global Justice Action Fund (GGJAF) estarán sobre el terreno en Chicago, codo con codo con nuestres aliades del Movimiento de los No Comprometidos, La Mayoría que se Levanta, el Movimiento por las Vidas Negras (M4BL) y miles de personas más, mientras exigimos justicia, equidad y responsabilidad a la clase política, al gobierno de Biden/Harris y a la campaña de Harris/Walz.

Por qué estamos aquí:

Nuestra participación en el Comité Nacional Demócrata es algo más que presentarnos: se trata de que la Izquierda del Movimiento Social defina este momento político y dé forma realmente al futuro de este país. Estamos llevando las voces de nuestras comunidades directamente a las puertas del poder, amplificando las demandas políticas de alto al fuego, inversiones en una economía regenerativa, justicia racial, equidad económica y acción climática. Junto con nuestros socios, trabajaremos para garantizar que la visión de justicia de nuestros movimientos siga estando en el centro de la conversación nacional.

Qué esperar:

- Acción directa: Uniremos fuerzas con la Red Comunitaria Palestina de Estados Unidos (USPCN) y más de 300 organizaciones en la Marcha sobre el Comité Nacional Demócrata para exigir un programa audaz y transformador que aborde la justicia para Palestina; un alto al fuego, el embargo de armas y el respeto del derecho interno para poner fin al genocidio en Palestina y la desinversión integral de los sistemas de guerra y la inversión en sistemas comunitarios.
- Planificación estratégica: Mientras estemos en la DNC, GGJ y GGJAF también participarán en debates y acciones que ayuden a definir el futuro de nuestro trabajo político. Éste es nuestro momento para garantizar que la influencia de base e internacional que tienen nuestros miembros modele la dirección que la izquierda está dando a la política estadounidense.
- Solidaridad con los Grupos Aliados: Éste es un momento crítico para profundizar nuestras alianzas con organizaciones de izquierda de todo el país comprometidas con el cambio radical. Participaremos en múltiples acciones y eventos esta semana -desde la marcha «Keep it 1000» de EAT por las reparaciones hasta el demPalooza de Care In Action- que contribuirán a la construcción general de poder en la izquierda.
