More details

For decades, campaigners around the world have been fighting for access to essential medicines. Drugs produced by the profit-hungry pharmaceutical industry have for too long been priced so high that millions die every year from treatable conditions. With numerous researchers across the world now racing to find effective Covid19 vaccines and treatments, campaigners are ramping up efforts to ensure that access for all is pushed to the top of the political agenda.

Join our webinar and hear from social justice campaigner Umunyana Rugege of Section 27, South Africa, and a speaker from Brazil (tbc) as they share their fight for access to medicines in the global south and how this longstanding issue is impacting their struggle to ensure fair access to Covid19 treatments and vaccines.

And we’ll also have our colleague Heidi Chow, Global Justice Now, who will be speaking about our campaign to push the UK government to take an active role to ensure global access for all to Covid19 vaccines and treatments.

Help ensure that any Covid-19 vaccine is affordable for everyone, everywhere

We are campaigning for the government to attach conditions on all UK funding for a Covid-19 vaccine so that big pharmaceuticals don’t charge extortionate prices, and leave millions of people around the world unable to access it.

Regular gifts give us the long-term stability to plan effective campaigns and the flexibility to respond to crises like these.
