On day two of the Democratic National Convention, we want to talk about Vice President Kamala Harris’ record on immigration.

As a senator, she was a fierce and relentless voice against then-President Trump’s anti-immigrant policies and cemented herself as a reliable and responsive ally to immigrant communities. She grilled Trump’s cabinet officials on their threats to DACA recipients, and their atrocious policy that separated children from their parents. She supported landmark pieces of legislation, including The Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, The Fairness for Farmworkers Act, and The REUNITE Act.

As vice president, she has been instrumental in enacting policies that empowered immigrant communities, from expanding access to healthcare to protecting workers’ rights.

That’s why the NILC Immigrant Justice Fund enthusiastically endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign for president. 

The stakes are so high this election — especially when Trump and his Project 2025 lays out exactly how much harm he plans to inflict on our communities and our democracy.
