Labor Day weekend is almost here, and it's the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to your favorite outdoor activity, whether that's fishing, birdwatching, hiking, camping or something else entirely. Several parks will be hosting special events over Labor Day weekend, including Indian Cave State Park, Fort Atkinson State Historical Park and Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park; don't miss it!

Join us for Fort Hartsuff's 150th anniversary celebration
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the building of Fort Hartsuff, and it's time to celebrate. Stop by the park for a two-day event on Labor Day weekend filled with activities. The celebration will include military and civilian reenactments and demonstrations, invited speakers, kids activities, food vendors and more.

Fly-fishing and fly-tying workshop at Fort Robinson
Learn the basics of fly-fishing and fly-tying so you can catch trout and panfish throughout the state. Fort Robinson State Park is hosting a workshop Sept. 28, which is open to both new and experienced anglers. Lodging is available at the park for those traveling for the workshop. Make a weekend of it and join us Sept. 29 for the park's community fishing night and youth fishing instructor workshop.
