Dear Friend,
The first night of the DNC was a powerful and inspiring moment.
Although the speakers are all inside, over 200 grassroots organizations came together to host a rally and march outside the convention center. The voices of young activists and adult allies like you, Friend, called for a permanent ceasefire.
These calls can’t be ignored by lawmakers, especially with a theme like “For the People.” We hope youth activists continue to raise their voices, and see their hopes reflected this week.

As for the speeches, Jasmine Crockett started off with an emotional speech, talking about the stark differences between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
|
She explained the significance of this race: this is not a race between two candidates, but rather, between a career prosecutor and a career criminal. Crockett has been a fierce supporter of Harris, and even said the first time they met, Harris wiped away her tears and assured her she was on the right path – the power of representation and seeing others like you pave the way.
Other leaders like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke about how Kamala Harris is the only candidate who will advocate for issues important to youth activists overlooked by Donald Trump, like rent control.
|
Donald Trump would sell the country for nothing, but considers himself a true patriot –compared to Harris, who fights every single day to uplift working people and make sure we do not go back.
Remember, Friend: Young people will be the reason Democrats like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win this November.

Future Coalition is here at the DNC, and we’re going to be sending out daily updates so you can follow along!
