Now that we’ve clinched the official Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Tennessee, I want to pause for a second to remind you why I’m in this race and why it’s so critical.

As a former teacher, a Tennessee state legislator, and a proud member of the Tennessee Three, I’ve dedicated my life to serving our community and fighting for our values. Now, I’m taking on one of the most extreme Republican senators in the country, Marsha Blackburn.

You may recognize her as the bought-and-paid-for, anti-freedom politician who supports the most radical policies you can imagine, including a nationwide abortion ban.

I'm ready to outwork, outraise, and out-organize Marsha to win this thing. But I can't do it alone. After the devastating school shooting in Nashville last year, our community came together to demand common-sense gun violence prevention. The GOP refused to listen, but my colleagues and I stood up in protest to ensure the families were heard. Instead of addressing the issue, the Republicans tried to expel us from the House. They know I won't ever be silenced when I see injustice, and they’re sick of me calling them out.

I am ready to take that same fight and energy to Washington to protect our communities, our democracy, and our fundamental rights. As Tennessee’s next Senator, I will continue to stand up to anyone to advocate for gun violence prevention, abortion access, voting rights, and other values we hold dear. There’s just too much on the line to sit this election out.

Marsha Blackburn has the backing of Donald Trump and wealthy special interests, but we have something more powerful—the people. There's a movement afoot in Tennessee, and we're picking up momentum every day. Recent polls show we’ve cut Marsha’s lead, and we’re leading among Tennessee women 49% to 43%. The support is growing, and together, we can win this.

We need to raise $200,000 before Wednesday to power our campaign and ensure we have the resources to compete against Marsha's war chest. Unlike Marsha, I don’t accept a dime of corporate PAC money.
