Like many people across the country this summer, you may have experienced or are experiencing a heat wave at this very moment. Such conditions are already brutal — now imagine facing a heat wave without air conditioning or shelter, with limited access to safe water.
In the past few months, children in the Gaza Strip, Pakistan and Sudan have suffered from scorching high temperatures on top of a number of compounding crises. Around the world, rising temperatures and climate-induced impacts are putting children in danger.
For many children, a heat wave is just the beginning of the challenge. As temperatures rise, areas in drought may experience crop failure and food insecurity, impacting children’s nutrition and well-being. Displacement camps with limited access to safe water become more vulnerable to disease outbreaks. With the climate crisis worsening, these kinds of threats and more are escalating.
Children trapped in the heat need relief — and UNICEF is working to deliver emergency assistance.
Make a gift and your support will be TRIPLED for children affected by the climate crisis >>
Heat waves are dangerous to all, but children are especially vulnerable.
UNICEF is helping children facing extreme temperatures by providing critical relief including safe water, sanitation and hygiene supplies, and Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food. As temperatures rise and children are at greater risk, more support will be needed to meet children’s needs.
Make a powerful difference with a gift that sends 3X the support to children.
Thank you for being there for children,
