Hey John, it’s Andy Beshear, governor of Kentucky – and I just walked off the stage at the Democratic National Convention here in Chicago.

With just 78 days left to elect Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and their partners in the states, I am personally reaching out to ask if you will rush $3 or even $6 to help us defeat Republicans and elect Democrats today. All donations will be triple-matched up to our $500,000 goal, but only until Thursday at midnight.

Since Vice President Harris announced her campaign, chose my friend Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, and hit the trail there has been a massive wave of momentum across the country. There is more energy, enthusiasm and excitement than we have seen in years.

Kamala Harris gets it. She knows we must move beyond anger, extremism and division. That everyone has dignity and deserves respect.
|
|
And there is no doubt in my mind if we keep this momentum up, we can beat Donald Trump and JD Vance this November.

Here’s the thing: Trump and Vance simply don’t believe in your freedom. Trump says people are “absolutely thrilled” that women have had their basic rights eliminated. JD Vance says women should stay in violent marriages — and that pregnancies resulting from rape are simply “inconvenient.”

Their policies give rapists more rights than their victims. That’s not inconvenient, it’s wrong.
|
|
But listen, John, every single one of the next 78 days to Election Day will be hard-fought. We are up against dangerous far-right extremism that threatens our fundamental rights and our very democracy. As someone who turned the so-called ruby red state of Kentucky blue when I was elected and reelected as governor, I know a fight when I see it – and I do not back down.

We’ve got a fight on our hands in battleground states like North Carolina and New Hampshire this year where the GOP are trying to elect extremists to the Governor’s office. That’s why I’m asking for your help today to elect more Democratic governors to combat extremism and lead our country forward.
