John, I wanted to tell you a quick story about Vice President Kamala Harris.

In 2019, I wrote an op-ed in Essence magazine endorsing then-Senator Kamala Harris for her Presidential bid as the perfect antidote to Donald Trump and his false narratives.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to do that again as she has served alongside President Biden and is uniquely prepared for this moment.

As a mother and teacher, her experience being part of the second class to integrate Berkeley schools was a defining moment for me. Her story is an American story.

She was laser-focused on the cost of housing, taking care of our children, taking care of our teachers, and making our government work for us — and she has continued to be a forceful advocate in the years since.

For her entire life, Kamala Harris has been for the people. She is ready for this moment, and so am I. So here is my question for you, John: Are you?
