Kristen grew up in Portland, Michigan, a small town where she learned firsthand the values of hard work and always striving to help others. She and her sisters were the first generation in their family to attend college, and she devoted her life to serving her community.

At Michigan Head Start, Kristen helped achieve improvements for child care and youth development programs. As a State Senator, she's been a deciding vote to pass reproductive freedom protections, a tax cut for working families, common-sense gun safety legislation, and expanded union rights in her state.

Kristen exemplifies the kind of Democrat who we at MMP are fired up to send to Congress: pro-freedom, pro-family, pro-opportunity – and someone whose lived experience has made her a proven champion for midwestern families.

The contrast couldn't be clearer when it comes to her opponent, a trust fund millionaire who celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, praised extremists like JD Vance, and refuses to denounce the far-right policies that we know cost jobs and raise prices for Michiganders.

Kristen's opponent has run twice already, so he has a name ID and financial advantage. The latest poll shows that Kristen can win this race — but she's going to need grassroots support across the board to match the GOP on the airwaves, share her story across the district, and take her campaign to the finish line.
