John,
This month, students and teachers across Virginia – and the country – are heading back to school for the start of the new school year. It is an exciting time for so many families like mine; we just sent our daughters back to school – one in high school, one in middle school, and one in elementary school!
As a mother of three school-aged kids and the proud product of Virginia public schools, I know that our public education system is one of the most important tools we have to set our kids up for success.
As extremists in Virginia and across the country try to politicize our schools, pit parents against teachers, and ban books in school libraries, I know we have more important things to focus on – issues that really matter. As Governor, I will work to address the teacher shortage, contend with learning loss, and make effective investments in Virginia’s public schools to make sure we’re building the next generation of leaders.
The success of every child in Virginia — as well as the success of our community and our workforce — depends on the success of our schools. So, if you agree, I hope I can count on your support with a contribution to my campaign today:
