Gun violence rates in the U.S. are already catastrophic. The Supreme Court is trying to make it worse.

Justice Democrats

John,

There are many issues on our agenda. But one of the deadliest problems we’re working to address is our nation’s gun violence epidemic.

There are too many guns — especially semiautomatic weapons — in this country. They are far too easy to access. And when those who seek to harm others have access to a type of device known as a bump stock, the danger that these weapons pose becomes even more grave.

Will you sign on to tell Congress to finally BAN bump stocks?

Bump stocks turn legally purchased semiautomatic weapons into machine guns. They’re what was used during the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, which killed 60 people and wounded 500. Bump stocks are weapons of war — and they have no place in civilian life.

Now, our extremist, far-right Supreme Court has overturned a regulation classifying bump stocks as machine guns, effectively legalizing these deadly devices.

John, seven years after Las Vegas and hundreds of more mass shootings later, we’re not going back. It's time for Congress to do its job and protect our communities from the gun violence epidemic by finally enacting a nationwide ban on bump stocks.

Will you sign on and tell Congress that a ban on bump stocks is long overdue?

Bump stocks create weapons of war. And weapons of war do not belong in our communities.

Thank you for taking action,
