Today is day one of the Democratic National Convention, and I’m thrilled to be here in Chicago, addressing the nation as one of the Democratic leaders who are working to create a brighter future for our country.

The excitement I’m seeing is through the roof – people are clearly ready to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz this November!

Throughout the convention, we’ll discuss our party’s vision for when we keep the White House, hold the Senate majority, and flip the House. I’m looking forward to talking about the values that unite us and the shared interests that make us members of the Democratic Party. These ideals aren’t just partisan ideals, though—these are truths that we believe make us a better union.

We believe in expanding healthcare access so Americans can live long, fulfilling lives. We believe in addressing the climate crisis and ensuring future generations are left with a habitable planet they can rely on. We believe in the individual freedoms that our country was founded on, such as the freedom to make our own decisions about our bodies.

One thing I know to be true is that when the country hears our vision for America, they will stand with us and vote Kamala Harris into the White House this November.
