Earlier this month I joined legislators from North, Central, and South America at the first Panamerican Congress to address common challenges around democracy, the climate crisis, and peace.



Our region is interconnected, and we need to work together to find solutions to issues that impact our districts too.

It was great meeting so many people from around the continent about such important topics, building on relationships developed with fellow Latin American leaders.

These connections are vital as they allow us to share strategies, learn from each other's successes and setbacks, and bring effective solutions back to Chicago.

Building on these relationships is crucial for Illinois, as they give me a broader perspective, and allow me to better represent our community's interests and ensure we remain a strong voice in discussions on democracy and environmental policies.
