Dear John,
In the past couple of weeks, the news has been full of athletes performing brilliantly and breaking world records in Paris. Recent news has also trumpeted recurring warnings of yet another record-breaking heatwave or wildfire or flood.
Did you see the headlines that July 22 was the Earth's hottest day on record, and 2023 was the hottest year? In fact, the 10 hottest years on record have all happened in the last ten years (2014-2023). Around the world, we're experiencing more severe weather and unprecedented climate extremes, and seeing still too little global action. |

This fall, there are several opportunities for world leaders to take transformative measures to fight climate change and stop nature loss. In September, government officials, business leaders, and the public will come together in New York City for Climate Week—one of the largest stages dedicated to climate action. Later in the fall, leaders will reconvene in Baku, Azerbaijan, for COP29 to focus on climate finance and meeting climate commitments.
Ahead of these global meetings, decision makers need to hear from you: we have the solutions, and we have the momentum. Add your name and tell them: Now is the time to put solutions into motion.
Thanks in advance for amplifying our call for strong climate action. |
