One Month Until Constitution Day The National Constitution Center has all of the educational resources you need to celebrate Constitution Day in your classroom! With videos, lesson plans, and essays, the First Amendment Plan of Study is a great resource for studying any of the amendment's clauses. Would you have signed the Constitution? Use the To Sign or Not to Sign Lesson Plan to evaluate the ratification process and to determine if your students would have signed their name to the document. Study the Constitution in relation to our nation's other two founding documents— the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. What purpose does each document serve? Why were all three necessary in the Founding era? Answer those questions and more with the Founding Documents Lesson Plan. Get to know the Founders and how they shaped the Constitution with this Constitutional Convention video. Afterwards, figure out which Founder you are with this fun, online quiz! Use the Preamble Scramble puzzle to help memorize the Constitution's introduction. Or use the Preamble Challenge Lesson Plan to analyze the language of the preamble and determine the best way to represent the ideas enshrined in it. Classroom Exchanges Classroom Exchanges return for the 2019-2020 school year on Constitution Day! Classes participating in these online, synchronous Exchanges discuss big, constitutional questions using materials provided by the National Constitution Center. Teachers receive all of the necessary planning resources including lesson plans, civil dialogue procedures, and technology troubleshooting assistance. The National Constitution Center is launching an online matchmaking platform for the Exchanges in late August, just in time for Constitution Day 2019. Teachers who complete this survey will receive an email when the platform is live so they can be the first to sign up for an Exchange. Email
