The Democratic National Convention kicks off today in Chicago.  I’m excited to connect with Democrats from across Texas and across the country as we support Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz and get fired up to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November. 

#TeamLizzie is working to win our #TX07 race and help Democrats here at home and across the country win their races, including Vice President Harris and Governor Walz.

I have faith in Vice President Harris and Governor Walz’s abilities to lead and unite Americans now and in the future.  I have seen firsthand the difference in what we can do when Democrats are in the White House and control the House and Senate.  We’ve made historic progress, from lowering the cost of prescription drugs to making generational investments in infrastructure.  And we have all seen the risks to that work and to our values when Washington Republicans are in charge.

We have already seen the cruelty and chaos that characterize the Trump-Vance campaign, the GOP-controlled House, and the GOP agenda.  Among other things, Project 2025—the GOP’s plan if Trump retakes the White House—proposes restricting abortions, birth control, and the abortion pill, eliminating checks and balances on the presidency, and abolishing the National Weather Service.

Those are just some of the things at stake, and there are just 11 weeks left until Election Day. 

Each of us has an important role to play to help Democrats win at every level.  One thing you can do today that will make a difference is make a contribution to support all the work we’ll be doing between now and November.
