The overdose crisis is a key issue we are paying close attention to in this presidential race. It is an urgent public health emergency that affects all of us in every community. It should be a top priority for all our elected leaders. But unfortunately, all the parties and candidates fall short on real plans to reduce overdose deaths and help people who are struggling with addiction.
Drug Policy Action has always been nonpartisan and works well across the political aisle. No party is fighting for drug policy reform to be their marquee issue so no matter who wins we will be working overtime. Regardless of who takes office in 2025, we will advocate for drug policy rooted in evidence, health, equity, and human rights.
