As one of MPV's newest board members, I’ve already begun to see and experience firsthand the impact MPV has had, and continues to have, in my own community and beyond. The power of community is truly apparent when people come together with a shared vision of harmony and common intention of embracing and protecting diverse lived realities.
Getting involved with MPV has shown me ways in which these visions and intentions can manifest, both in a traditional sense but also in ways that seek to break boundaries and stereotypes.
Whether it’s an Iftar meal during Ramadan, a musical performance on stage featuring multicultural music united by Islam, or by supporting a young Muslim filmmaker as they make their dream come true, MPV gives us all the platform to speak, sing and be heard.
