Dear John,
As we all continue to navigate the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 together, I wanted to send my best wishes the safety and wellbeing of your family and friends.
During this critical period in American history, I need to make sure you know how CAGW is fighting for you and why our ongoing mission is so important. This is a difficult time for everyone, but I hope that after you read my letter, you will consider making a much-needed tax-deductible donation to CAGW today.
Since the coronavirus pandemic began to impact America in March, CAGW has been working around the clock to ensure that the government response to the pandemic is focused on essential programs and policies, while protecting your pocketbook, freedom, and liberty.
The reason for this uninterrupted activity in the middle of a global pandemic and a nationwide shutdown is clear: The fight to stand against excessive government spending and overreach has never been more urgent. The coronavirus crisis must not be used as an excuse to promote Big-Government, Socialist policies that will dramatically and permanently restructure America!
While the Far Left has been trying to add its radical agenda to the coronavirus relief bills, CAGW has been fighting back by exposing their excessive and grossly political spending and getting much of it removed or significantly reduced. We have also won other significant victories during this time, like successfully fighting to extend the tax filing and payment deadlines until July 15 and eliminating red tape to ensure that much-needed aid can quickly and effectively reach those in the greatest need.
But the fight is just beginning, and CAGW’s ongoing mission will be critical in the months and years ahead.
First, we must continue to identify, report, and oppose the Far Left’s wild ideas like multi-billion-dollar bailouts for big-labor pension funds and changes in election procedures that will allow politicians to exploit the pandemic to ensure their own re-election.
Second, CAGW’s waste-cutting recommendations have never been more important in light of the emergency pending bills, which have created the largest budget deficit American history. As this money is being spent, it is imperative that we not only identify the waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement that will undoubtedly occur, but that we can also continue to publish and promote our annual Congressional Pig Book and Prime Cuts reports, and put these recommendations into the hands of lawmakers so they can begin to pay down the massive debt created by all of this spending.
