[link removed] [[link removed]] folks, today marks one of the most significant anniversaries in American history — 104 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, granting women the right to vote in every U.S. state.

(For the record, Colorado has always been one step ahead of the rest of the country: we granted women the right to vote in 1893, 26 years before the 19th Amendment was ratified.)

The fight for women’s rights did not end with the ratification of the 19th Amendment — it’s a struggle we continue to pursue today.

In the Senate, we’ve been working hard to pass legislation to protect a woman’s right to choose. Just last month, I cosponsored and voted in favor of the Reproductive Freedom for Women Act, which would have enshrined the right to choose into law. Unfortunately, National Republicans in the Senate blocked that bill.

This comes as no surprise. Extreme MAGA Republicans have been working to undo any progress we have made on this issue ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. They’ve passed statewide abortion bans, tried to ban access to birth control and other reproductive care, and even tried to outlaw IVF treatments.
