Three years ago this month, Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and the rest of the right-wing establishment had a major victory that will last for generations.
After refusing to do so much as hold hearings to consider Barack Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, McConnell changed the rules of the Senate to put a right-wing justice on the most powerful court in our country.
Now Neil Gorsuch sits in a stolen Supreme Court seat. His nomination was propelled by the ultra-conservative, corporate-owned Federalist Society.
And now, in the middle of a deadly global pandemic, Gorsuch is colluding with his fellow right-wing justices to make it harder to vote and harder to prevent COVID-19’s spread — all in order to help Republicans win elections. They’ll soon be releasing decisions that may have grave impacts on abortion access, LGBTQ+ rights, and so many of our progressive priorities.
Thanks to stolen Supreme Court seats like Gorsuch’s, the far-right has a majority on the Supreme Court to enact Republicans’ draconian agenda. We can’t let them get away with this.
