Dear John,
I’m Sarah, the Executive Director of the Jane Fonda Climate PAC. Usually these emails focus on our latest endorsements, updates about our work, and important climate news. But today I’d like to share a little bit about myself, and even come clean about something.
I’ll just cut to the chase — I am a proud, childless cat lady.
Recently, JD Vance made some comments that really struck a chord. He took a swipe at women like me — childless, passionate about what we believe in, and maybe a bit too obsessed with our furry friends. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade anything for my cats!
Just look at them! This is Link and Rae, hanging out on the couch.
I adopted Link and Rae when they were just 5 weeks old. A co-worker found them on the side of the road, they were both wet and cold, and Link was very sick. The shelters were all full. So I did what any childless cat lady would do, I took them in!
In any case, this email isn’t just about a silly label. It’s about standing up against the weird, backward kind of thinking that Vance and others like him represent. I believe that we, the childless cat ladies, the dog dads, the devoted parents, and everyone in between, are a powerful force when we come together.
Let’s show JD Vance that when people who care deeply about the future of our planet unite in a common cause, we can make a real difference. That’s what JanePAC is all about — uniting so many diverse, unique people and communities around one cause: electing leaders who will fight for real, lasting climate progress.
Will you chip in today to help the Jane Fonda PAC continue our work electing leaders who don’t just pay lip service to issues to rile people up, but are actually committed to fighting for a better, greener future for all of us — cats, dogs, and humans of all ages?
Thank you for standing with me, Link, Rae, Jane, and our team!
Sarah
