John,
The most crucial part of a functioning democracy is the right to vote. That right has been under relentless attack with more than 900 anti-voter bills introduced between 2021 and 2023, and 81 being signed into law.[1][2][3]
And it’s only gotten worse in 2024: as of May 3rd, voters in 28 states will face restrictions to voting that were not in place during the 2020 election.[4]
These laws disproportionately suppress voter turnout from the most marginalized communities -- communities of color, low-income communities, LGBTQ+ communities, and rural communities. These anti-democracy laws are a reaction to the historic, multiracial voter turnout we witnessed in the 2020 presidential election and the 2021 and 2022 Georgia Senate runoff elections.
We’re not going to let anti-democracy forces win. We know that American democracy only works if everyone is able to vote -- regardless of their race, religion, or socioeconomic status. Chip in $5 to help us fight back against these voter suppression tactics.

Across the country, elections at every level will determine whether to invest in education, housing, health care, and many other critically needed programs, and whether the right to vote will be protected. These choices could not be more important -- and we all need to work together to make sure that voters, especially those with low incomes, people with disabilities, women, and people of color, are able to get to the polls and make those choices.
At the Coalition on Human Needs, we’re filling in the gaps and connecting service providers and nonprofits with resources to ensure low-income and underserved people have what they need to vote -- to overcome voter suppression laws, including voter ID laws. We're providing on the ground organizations with flyers that help their members register to vote and get the state ID they need.
We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us in the coming months and we need your support to help us power through. Donate $5 today to fund our Vote for Human Needs campaign!
