Peregrine Falcon with chick, CC Georges Lignier

Dear John

Please sign our petition to Natural England urging them to withdraw licences issued to take peregrine falcon chicks from their nests.

On 16th April, Natural England posted a blog outlining their decision to issue licences to take peregrine falcon chicks from their nests, to be used as part of a breeding programme for falconry.

Taking a chick from their nest and natural habitat to be used in needless breeding programmes is deeply unethical, and this decision must be reversed. Peregrine falcons have seen an increase in their numbers in recent decades, so these breeding programmes are in no way beneficial to the species, but only humans involved in falconry.

Falconry is an exploitative and outdated hobby that must not be prioritised over the rights these chicks have to remain in their natural habitat. Please sign our petition and share it with friends and family.
