Earthjustice never stops fighting for our environment in court

Over the last two administrations, litigation has been a critical tool to safeguard people and the planet. Earthjustice has been able to block or undo the Trump administration’s most damaging environmental policies and has used litigation and strategic advocacy to push for historic progress under the Biden administration.

Why the Western Arctic matters

The Special Areas of the Western Arctic are a biodiversity powerhouse that supports polar bears, musk oxen, migrating caribou, birds from around the globe, and other unique wildlife. All of this would be harmed by reckless oil and gas exploration.

The Arctic is on the front line of climate change and is warming at a rate four times faster than the rest of the planet. There is nowhere more under threat from Big Oil’s expansion plans than in the Western Arctic. But the Biden administration has announced an opportunity to help protect it.

The deadly car accessory we don’t need or want

Each day, tiny particles of lead shed from small metal bars attached to vehicle tires and scatter across streets and playgrounds, ultimately seeping into the air, water, and soil. This hidden hazard threatens our health by contaminating our everyday surroundings with harmful lead — a heavy metal for which there is no safe exposure level.
