John, do you support increasing the minimum wage?
Across the United States, millions of hard working Americans are earning the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, which hasn't increased since 2009.
This causes countless Americans to struggle to afford basic necessities like food, housing, and healthcare. We believe it’s past time to raise the minimum wage to $20 and ensure that all workers can live with dignity and economic security.
We’d like to see an increase in minimum wage to $20 by 2030. We also want this legislation to eliminate the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers and ensure that minimum wage keeps up with the rising cost of living.
This would be a crucial step towards addressing inequity in our nation’s economy. We must ensure that wages are commensurate with the cost of living, to allow everyone to live with dignity — and that’s not currently the case. We must encourage our representatives to prioritize the needs of working Americans over corporate profits.
