David Dayden, The American Prospect: "Two years ago today, President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, the biggest climate bill in American history. It has proceeded with the tiniest amount of fanfare and voter indifference, largely because the administration had a strategy to minimize communicating with the public about its record. The other, more structural reason for the muted response is that the bill’s time horizon is necessarily long-term. The nation’s energy mix won’t transition overnight, factories for all the equipment needed for that transition won’t be built overnight, consumer choices to upgrade to green technologies won’t be made overnight, and so the bill’s programs were designed to take effect over at least a decade...Biden’s policies set up his successor well to reap benefits that were tantalizingly out of his reach. Donald Trump would likely Hulk-smash at least some of those benefits because they weren’t his idea; Kamala Harris is likely committed to seeing them flourish. Either way, Biden will languish without much of the credit. He will retain the legacy, however. And if it works, he’ll have shown that win-win industrial policy is possible."

Ever since he was announced as Donald Trump’s running mate, Vance has been in the headlines for his history of weird comments about gender and marriage. Ultimately, it’s difficult to give Vance the benefit of the doubt when it comes to these comments considering his past statements on gender and the sort of people that he surrounds himself with. Donald Trump, the man’s running mate, has been legally branded a sexual predator and is one of the most famous misogynists in the world, for God’s sake! All of which to say: please keep talking, JD, you’re doing a great job of alienating half of the electorate!"
Texas women denied care for ectopic pregnancies proves exceptions are a "farce", experts say

Yet, Kelsie and Kyleigh were denied absolutely urgent care,” said Beth Brinkmann, senior director of U.S. Litigation at the Center for Reproductive Rights. 'It’s impossible to have the best interest of your patient in mind when you’re staring down a life sentence. Texas officials have put doctors in an impossible situation...It is clear that these exceptions are a farce,'" she added.
