Lesko Leads Letter to World Anti-Doping Agency

This week, I led a letter to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to address transparency issues and their handling of doping allegations. While the United States, and nearly every other country, are held to the highest standard of integrity in sports, China has repeatedly violated international doping rules thus risking the integrity of sports at a global scale. During the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for banned substances, in 2022 two additional swimmers tested positive. One of these swimmers just competed for China at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rather than take accountability, China has instead blamed the test results on contaminated food in the hopes of avoiding consequence. Until WADA begins to hold China accountable to the same standards as the rest of the world. U.S. taxpayers should not be responsible for financially supporting them as an organization. Lesko Legislation: Women's Bill of Rights

While the left is busy trying to figure out what a ‘woman’ is, House Republicans have been hard at work safeguarding women from the left’s attacks on basic biology. This Congress, I was happy to reintroduce the Women’s Bill of Rights alongside Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01) and Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL-15). This resolution provides a definition for what a woman is to help the woke left understand the underlying basic biology most of us learned in school, as well as strengthening its legal definition to protect sex-segregated activities and organizations. Get the Facts: VP Kamala on Crime

Under President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ leadership, crime across the country has increased, particularly in Democrat-run cities. Some businesses in Harris’ home state of California have been forced to shut their doors due to theft and other crime. This past year, popular fast-food chain In-N-Out announced for the first time it would be closing one of its locations after the frequent victimization of both its employees and its customers due to rising crime in the area. It’s not hard to imagine the cause of these crime waves. In June of 2020, Kamala Harris began to voice support for the “defund the police” movement during a radio interview. She also praised Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s cuts to police funding. Her lack of respect for law enforcement goes beyond just the police force. While she was serving in the U.S. Senate, she compared the brave men and women working for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Klu Klux Klan. Her concern is not with the safety of America’s communities, but with appeasing the far left’s woke anti-police agenda. Not only does she not want to enforce the laws at our Southern Border, but if she gets her way, we won’t enforce the law within our borders either.

Casework Highlight

Two constituents could not get an update from the IRS regarding their 2023 tax returns in which a refund was owed. After reaching out to our office, it was determined that they needed to complete IRS healthcare forms to verify a portion of their return. They did so and the agency was able to release their return.

Military Academy Nominations

As a member of Congress, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. This would include nominating candidates for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. For more information click here.
