We don’t want to sound too alarmist, John, but this is what will happen if Jon Tester falls short here in Montana and Democrats lose their Senate majority:

• A Republican majority would enact a national abortion ban at the first chance it gets. Remember: the Montana GOP’s agenda specifically calls for a “complete ban” on abortion — and Jon Tester’s opponent Tim Sheehy has already doubled down on his support for ripping away reproductive care access from millions of Americans.


• A Republican majority would slash taxes for billionaires — all while hardworking Montana families are forced to withstand record-high property tax increases under GOP leadership.


• And a Republican majority would destroy our Montana way of life by relinquishing control of our priceless public lands and allowing wealthy outsiders to turn our state into a playground for the ultra-wealthy.

These are the stakes our state is facing in November, John. And we simply can’t afford to fall short.
