Speaking at a campaign event on Thursday, the convicted felon and infamous draft dodger took yet another deeply offensive and on-brand swipe at America's military veterans and fallen soldiers. Addressing Republican megadonor and 2018 Medal of Freedom recipient Miriam Adelson — whom Trump reportedly angered during a texting temper tantrum last week — the bloviating con artist said, "[The Medal of Freedom is] actually much better because everyone [who] gets the congressional Medal of Honor, they’re soldiers. They’re either in very bad shape because they've been hit so many times by bullets or they’re dead. She gets it, and she’s a healthy, beautiful woman. And they’re rated equal." There truly is no bottom with this man.

Speaking at a Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States post in Pennsylvania on Thursday, Vance compared the country's immigration challenges to...trying to eat a large sandwich. “Well, that’s a really big sandwich. It’s 10 times the size of your mouth. How are you possibly going to eat the whole thing?” Vance went on to describe the Trump-Vance administration’s plans to "eat" the problem by deporting undocumented migrants "bite" by "bite." He explained, "Well, you take the first bite, and then you take the second bite, and then you take the third bite. And that’s how you approach the 20 million illegal aliens who are here." What the f*ck is he talking about, and why is he so f*cking weird?

The Trump campaign predictably excoriated the idea of, ya know, helping lower- and middle-class Americans get a fair shot at the American dream as a "communist" policy, labeling the vice president "Comrade Kamala." Taking a page straight out of the disgraced ex-president's offense-only-no-matter-what playbook, the Republican vice presidential nominee doubled down on deeply problematic statements he made about immigrants in 2021. "Has anybody seen the movie Gangs of New York?” Vance asked a room filled with reporters on Friday, citing Martin Scorsese's 2002 film depicting New York City in 1863. "That’s what I'm talking about. You know that when you have these massive ethnic enclaves in our country, it can lead to higher crime rates." Citing a fictional movie is probably not the best way to defend controversial comments, especially since the major villain of that particular film is an anti-immigrant nativist crime boss based on a real f*cking person. First Trump and his strange affinity for Hannibal Lecter. Now Vance siding with...Bill the Butcher? So very weird.
