When I first got in this race, the most common question I heard on the campaign trail was: What will you do in Congress?

I got into this race because we deserve access to affordable health care and prescription drugs. We deserve access to broadband regardless of our zip code in order to provide educational opportunities and markets for our small businesses. And we deserve access to green renewable energy jobs and a clean healthy outdoors. As a Southwest Washingtonian, I knew we deserve better -- that we can and we will do better. And, John, when I’m in Congress, I’ll be tenacious in my fight for our community.

In Congress, I’ll also work to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, because I believe that our community is strongest when we’re all supported. And I’ll be elected by the people, for the people -- not by big corporations and special interests.
