Grandparents For Truth will be in Washington D.C. on August 31, showing up and speaking out in defense of every child’s right to an honest education. The event is being dubbed a “Celebration of Reading,” and will be highlighting everything books can do to enlighten, uplift, and improve the lives of children.
This bold and exciting event will include celebrity readers, speakers, performances from local groups, activities for children, and much more. This event is open to the public, and people of all ages who support our children’s freedom to learn are encouraged to attend. You can learn more about the event at the link below.
We’ve got clubs popping up around the country, and we’re helping our club leaders understand the ins and outs of organizing to defend education. Recently, we held a training session for some of our club leaders showing them how to handle media interviews, media pitching, and much more. It’s one of the many ways we support our clubs and help them help their communities fight back against book bans and censorship.
You can join in on the action by becoming a member of Grandparents For Truth or signing up to start your own club in your local area!
Grandparents For Truth swag is as popular as ever, so grab yours and show the world that you believe in honest education.

People For the American Way’s Separate Advocacy Work
Following news that Utah has imposed a statewide ban outlawing the presence of 13 books in public schools, including titles by such well-known authors as Margaret Atwood, Judy Blume, and Sarah J. Maas, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:
“This statewide book ban is alarming and devastating for millions of students in the state of Utah. Many of these titles have been beloved by young people for decades and have only now come under fire. We know that book bans and censorship are way out of step with the beliefs of most parents and it’s on all of us to call out the harm they do to kids. Along with concerned parents and educators in Utah who are speaking out against this draconian ban, we’re urging state lawmakers to reverse their decision and give Utah kids the freedom to read, learn and grow that they deserve.”
