A Message from Gabe:

Greetings Rhode Islanders,

I have some great news! Earlier today, I joined our two dedicated champions in the Senate — Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse — in announcing a $251 million federal award to replace 15 aging bridges between Providence and Warwick along I-95 and Route 10.

This funding award is the biggest in our state's history and it's for a good reason. I-95 is a critical artery for Rhode Island, with over 185,000 commuters, visitors, and commercial drivers relying on it to get around. Replacing all 15 bridges may be ambitious plan, but it is exactly the initiative we need to ensure that our roads remain safe and in good condition.

ImageI-95 is a critical artery for Rhode Island — and the delegation is acting on our responsibility to make sure it delivers for the future.

This project wouldn’t be possible without some serious teamwork. The funds come from the federal Bridge Investment Program, part of President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris’ Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. State and federal officials are joining forces to implement this funding — thinking big, acting boldly, and delivering critical upgrades to key infrastructure priorities in our state.

However, this project isn't just about fixing bridges along. It's about investing in Rhode Island’s future, supporting our economy, and ensuring that our communities stay connected. The project will require a lot of hard work from everyone involved, particularly the working men and women in Building Trades who will be carrying out the job. I know they are up to the task, and I am confident we will see remarkable progress in the years ahead.

We're building a safer, stronger Rhode Island together. I'm excited to see the positive benefits that this project will bring to our state for years to come.

Sincerely,

This week marks the second anniversary of President Biden signing the Inflation Reduction Act into law. The law is delivering lower costs for families and growing the middle class by:

Lowering Health Care Costs: Medicare negotiating drug prices is expected to save our seniors $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs in 2026 alone.

Driving Clean Energy Growth: The law created more than 330,000 new clean energy jobs while companies announced over $265 billion in clean energy investments.

Lowering Energy Costs: Last year, 3.4 million families saved approximately $8.4 billion thanks to new tax credits created by this law.

Last week, we celebrated two years since the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) and Science Act was signed into law.

The law significantly boosted the U.S. semiconductor industry, investing nearly $53 billion in workforce, manufacturing, and research and development. Companies have promised to invest almost $400 billion into semiconductors, which is expected to create more than 115,000 jobs.

This progress not only supports our economy, it is also vital to our national security.

Two years ago, President Biden signed
The Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act into law to expand benefits for Veterans exposed to toxic substances during Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras.

As of July 2024, Veterans in Rhode Island’s First Congressional District have submitted 1,867 PACT Act claims to the Department of Veteran Affairs.

The PACT Act simplifies access to health care and benefits for our Veterans. The law offers presumptive eligibility for certain conditions and provides essential support to Veterans exposed to toxic substances, ensuring they receive the care and benefits they deserve.

As a result of this law, Veterans are saving on medical costs and receiving disability compensation based on their health conditions.

Please call our Pawtucket office at
