As the world celebrated the spirit of the Olympics, we were reminded of the power of perseverance, teamwork, and the passing of the torch from one generation to the next. At re:power, we believe in preparing our leaders to carry this torch forward, ensuring a brighter future for our communities. Can we count on your support to continue this important work?

Our re:power champions are world-class alumni sharing how and why re:power programming is essential for victory during and after the 2024 election cycle. We asked ambassadors to reflect on how re:power has prepared them to pass the torch to other organizers in their community.

Here’s what Movement Building Champion Thanh Tran had to say:

This work is hard. This work will burn you out spiritually and emotionally if you allow it. There is wisdom in knowing when to fight and when to pass the torch to others. During the re:power trainings, one of our Native American organizers reminded us of the 7 generations of destruction that brought us here. And how it will take 7 generations to reverse that harm... re:power’s curriculum in addition to the collective knowledge from my peers has given my work perspective. It helped me recognize the generations of advocacy that I stand on and reminded me that it is now my turn to participate in shaping the landscape for organizers of the future. At re:power, we see ourselves as torchbearers in the ongoing struggle for social justice and equity. We believe in nurturing leaders who will carry forward the legacy of transformative change. Just as Olympic athletes inspired us with their resilience and spirit, our leaders inspire their communities through their tireless advocacy and visionary leadership.

Our mission is to prepare leaders not only to face the challenges of today but also to build a foundation for a brighter future. We invest in their development, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to ignite change and inspire others.

We know that any champion is only as effective as their training prepares them to be and re:power is working to prepare 2,900 leaders for victory this year. To make this happen, we’ll need a championship mentality to raise $100,000 in support of our programs. Will you help us make champions of BIPOC changemakers by giving this year?
