Friend,

Thank you to everyone who joined me for my in-person and telephone town halls over the last few weeks. It was great to hear from Iowans across the district and discuss the issues that matter most, including border security, the importance of lowering taxes, and ways we can support Iowa agriculture. I will continue to seek your feedback, bring your stories back to Washington, D.C., and advocate for common sense solutions to make D.C. run more like the great state of Iowa!

On Monday, August 19th, I will be holding a telephone town hall to provide an update on my work for Iowans during the August work period and answer your questions. To join, dial the number below and stay on the line to be connected. I hope to talk to you next week!

Casework Highlight

I recently met the Harvey family and they shared an amazing story of the impact our casework efforts made in their lives.

My team helped Joel Harvey's caregiver, Ivan, navigate the visa process to help his wife, Cristine, move to the U.S. from the Philippines. This process took years, but our team was relentless and worked hard to reunite Ivan and his wife in Iowa. This not only meant a great deal to Ivan and Cristine, but to the Harvey family as well. They came to one of my recent town hall meetings so we could meet in person and celebrate this win for both families, and I was touched by their heartfelt appreciation.

My team always stands ready to help Iowans work with federal agencies including help with the VA, passport assistance, and the IRS. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out here!

Improving Maternal Health Care Access: MOMS Act

As a mom of two boys, I know that there is no greater blessing in life than our children and families. When a woman finds out she is pregnant, she should be surrounded with resources and support and feel confident in her access to care.

In Congress, I’m working to improve maternal healthcare access and ensure women are empowered to choose life. That is why I helped introduce the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act. This bill applies child support obligations at the time of pregnancy, improves access to prenatal telehealth care, provides financial resources to expand access to care, and bolsters education on maternal health.

Being pro-life means valuing both the mother and child and ensuring new families have the support system they need. I will continue to be a strong advocate for women and families in Congress.

Investing in IA-02: Grinnell Water Facility Replacement Project

As a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I have worked to cut wasteful spending while reinvesting taxpayer dollars in our communities. Your tax dollars shouldn’t go toward the radical left agenda, they should benefit you and your family.

I secured $3,000,000 for the Grinnell Water Facility Replacement Project. This funding will support the City of Grinnell as they construct a new water treatment facility to ensure residents have reliable access to safe drinking water. I am proud to have worked alongside Grinnell officials and community leaders to secure this critical funding and ensure that Grinnell continues to thrive.
