John, My opponent took campaign contributions from a health insurance company that’s thriving from the coronavirus crisis. UnitedHealth Group is a multi-billion dollar corporation and one of the nation’s largest insurers. Recently, they announced that they not only saw their profits increase during the coronavirus crisis, but they are projecting the coronavirus will have minimal impact on their overall earnings. Then weeks after the coronavirus hit our country, my opponent gladly took thousands in campaign contributions from them. Think about it. 22 million Americans are unemployed. 9.2 million workers have lost health insurance. And our politicians are accepting money from companies that benefit from human suffering. This is legalized corruption, plain and simple. People are dying. Doctors and nurses risk their lives every day without proper protective equipment. Meanwhile, health insurance companies deny coverage and force doctors to generate profits and then donate to the politicians who will protect our cruel health care system. It’s clear that our leaders don’t have the moral courage to do what is needed for real change. Even in a crisis, they continue to smile to our faces all while doing deals under the table with corporations and special interests. When I’m in Congress, I will fight tooth and nail for Medicare for All. I will fight against corruption in our political system. My opponent can’t say the same thing. Support our 100% grassroots campaign by chipping in $20 or more now. Together, we can create a better future. - Eva
