Two years ago, Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law. This transformational law has propelled forward our clean energy future, all while supporting good-paying jobs and lowering costs for consumers.
As these significant federal investments and cost savings continue to roll out to our communities, I want to make sure that YOU know about the energy savings for which you may be eligible!
That’s why I’m holding a workshop on Thursday, August 29th at 6:00 PM at the Albany Public Library’s Washington Avenue Branch, located at 161 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12210 to provide information and details on how individuals can access financial benefits from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) through the EmPower+ Program.
EmPower+ helps low and moderate-income households save money on energy bills through improvements made to an individual's primary residence. Through this program, eligible New Yorkers can receive:
- No-cost energy assessments and receive a customized plan to minimize energy usage;
- No-cost direct install improvements by participating program contractors; and
- Funding to be used for energy efficiency improvements, including air sealing, insulation, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and electrical service and wiring upgrades.
