Urge Congress to end factory farming
[link removed]
Dear John,
As someone who cares deeply about animals, you likely know that farm animals are some of the most neglected and abused beings on the planet.
Globally, around 80 billion cows, chickens, pigs, and other animals are killed for human consumption, and that doesn’t include fish. In the United States, 99% of the ten billion animals exploited for food live on crowded factory farms where they endure unimaginable suffering. The abusive conditions these innocent beings experience don’t just hurt animals; they also harm workers and communities and threaten our shared environment.
John, together, we can create a healthier and more compassionate food system that is better for animals, people, and our planet. Your voice matters, and your

elected officials need to hear from you now!
Every five years, Congress allocates over $700 billion through the Farm Bill. This massive piece of legislation determines how we produce and distribute food, and it has profound consequences.
For decades, the Farm Bill has funded factory farming, which hurts animals and the environment and exacerbates climate change. Alarmingly, this year’s bill includes some of the most harmful provisions to date.
That’s because industry lobbyists had EATS Act language included in the Farm Bill to override states’ efforts to reduce animal suffering and other harms of factory farming.

Apart from threatening worker and environmental protections, this disastrous language rolls back laws restricting the extreme confinement of hens, calves, and mother pigs. It also jeopardizes laws protecting dogs and horses and puts communities and public health at risk.
John, including EATS Act language in the Farm Bill would undermine decades of hard won progress on animal protection laws.

Please contact your U.S. Representative today and urge them to reject the inhumane language of the EATS Act.
Most animals raised for meat are forced to endure unspeakable pain and neglect in silence, and agribusiness wants to keep this hidden from public view. But today, you can show these animals that they are not alone.
With the generosity of caring friends like you, Farm Sanctuary is working to end factory farming and to shift resources away from animal agriculture to support healthy families, farmers, and communities. We are committed to fighting animal abuse and building a food system that nourishes everyone without harming anyone.
A kinder world is possible—and it starts with each of us taking a stand against the cruelty on factory farms.

That’s why I hope you will send a message today urging your Representative in Congress to reject the dangerous and undemocratic language from the EATS Act.
Thank you in advance for taking action on behalf of farm animals!
Sincerely,
Gene Baur
